Outline: Think about gender free in the military from United Kingdom

You are happy today. My speech is a story about girls. However, the girl is in a military. I studied at military colleges in United Kingdom. I studied in the royal army, navy, and air force colleges. That was for only three weeks. In that experience, however, I was surprised at a lot of cultural difference about women. I will introduce two surprising episodes.

At first, it is about the event in the royal navy, called “Dartmath”. When I walked in the way, one woman walked across to me. Surprising! She was wearing only a bath towel. I had thought that United Kingdom was the country of ladies and gentlemen. So I was very surprised at her behavior. But she said that we made women's rooms in the same floor to men's rooms to imitate in the destroyer ship life. In the same reason, by the way, Korean navy made women's rooms next to men's rooms. They often see their changing clothes, so they become not to care about gender.

The second, it is about the event in the air force, called “Cranwell”. Japanese ground self defense force has a 2 nights and 3 days training. But surprising! Royal air force has a 9 nights and 10 days training. Of course, they can not take a shower during that hard training. So they smelled too bad. Women have to do same training among of the men. And most surprising thing is about toilets. One woman did it near from me. I could saw her. They said that if she could not do the toilet near the team, she could never work out in a front line.

Military women in the developed countries worked more front line compared with Japan. Therefore they have the gender free education in the military college. I agree that. Military can not care about gender difference in the war. Let's develop our relationship between men and women without clothes too.

But we have to think the way. Just becoming naked is nonsense. Just doing the same training is nonsense. Because men have 3 times muscular power more than women. And women have many superior points to men. For example, caring others, careful working, especially counseling, humor, making beautiful things and so on. We have different roles in the society. So we can not say equal in a true meaning to treat us in same way. The most important thing is thinking each other and developing our relationship in Japanese way. Gender free is social common sense. So let's start to think about it.
